To keep your bamboo looking brand new for years to come, we recommend that you give your plates and bowls an oiling every few months.

All you need is a small amount of coconut oil, beeswax, or vegetable oil. Using a clean cloth rub the oil into your bamboo. Leave this to sit for a while and wipe any excess off before you use the plate or bowl again.

Don’t worry, you can’t over oil your bamboo. It will absorb what it needs.The oil keeps the wood supple and moisturised.

Our silicone suction base will work on any non-porous, clean surface such as plastic, glass, tile, metal and marble.

Whilst the product will suction to most wooden surfaces, you will find it more difficult to achieve longer lasting suction since wood is porous and air will leak into the airtight seal between the silicone and the wooden surface.

Furthermore, our suction base won’t work on a textured surface. For example, our bowls and plates are not compatible with the Stokke Tripp Trapp highchair because it has a textured tray. 

No, our bamboo products are not microwave safe. Microwaving bamboo (and any other wood product) will significantly reduce its lifespan.

Instead, we recommend warming food in a separate microwave-safe container before transfering and serving in your bamboo plate or bowl.

Plus, did you know that bamboo is naturally anti-scalding? This means that when you put that freshly microwaved porridge into your bamboo bowl, the bowl won't heat up and burn your little ones hands. The bamboo will remain cool to touch.
